Charles Ryrie
Charles Caldwell Ryrie (1925–2016), American dispensational theologian and a moderate voice for Free Grace Theology.
He taught systematic theology at Dallas Theological Seminary and was dean of its doctoral studies. His Dispensationalism Today (1965) became a standard statement of the system, and the Ryrie Study Bible sold millions of copies. He rejected the lordship view in Balancing the Christian Life (1969) and answered John MacArthur in So Great Salvation (1989), while holding, against Zane Hodges, that every true Christian bears some fruit.
